Field technicians
Every member of the field team holds a current QLD Security Provider Licence. All hires complete a 90-day shadow period with Jarrod before working solo on a customer site. We don’t take shortcuts on credentialing — it’s why our insurance pays out and why our warranty actually means something.

Why owner-installed matters
1. Your installer knows your system
When something goes wrong 14 months after install, you don’t explain it to a new face. The person who installed it is the one returning the call. We carry a digital site log with every install spec, configuration screenshot, and credential vault — accessible to the installer on-site within 60 seconds.
2. Warranty doesn’t bounce
The biggest customer pain point with franchise security companies: warranty claims get bounced between the franchise, the head office, and the subbie who did the work. With Mr Secured, the contract is with us, the install is by us, the warranty is honoured by us. Single point of accountability.
3. No upsell pressure
Subcontracted installers often get paid per-add-on. That’s why DIY scope creeps into “you also need this $400 sensor and this $700 panel.” We quote what you need, including the honest answer that you don’t need certain things. Zero commission on add-ons.
4. Same-day issue triage
If something stops working, we triage same business day. Most issues we resolve remotely via Akuvox SmartPlus, Dahua DMSS, or AJAX cloud — same afternoon if it’s a configuration issue, next available van slot if hardware needs to be swapped.
What being a local installer doesn’t mean
We’re not the cheapest. A flat-rate franchise can sometimes undercut us on quote because they’re optimising for volume and unpaid subbie labour. Our pricing reflects: properly insured, properly licensed, properly trained team showing up to do the work to spec.
If “cheapest” is your only criterion, we’re probably not your installer — and that’s fine. If “we can rely on this not to fail and we want someone who answers the phone in three years” matters, that’s where we earn the price difference.

Are Mr Secured technicians employees or subcontractors?
Employees. Every field technician is on the Mr Secured payroll with PAYG tax + super + WorkCover. No labour hire, no subbies, no per-job contractors.
How fast can you get a technician on-site in Brisbane?
Standard service call: within 2 business days for the Brisbane metro area. Emergency response (system down, alarm not arming): same-day where possible, max 4 hours during business hours.
Do you sub out the alarm monitoring?
Alarm monitoring is performed by SCSI or Sebrillo Monitoring (Grade A1 ASIAL-graded centres). We don’t operate a monitoring centre ourselves — we partner with the best-in-class. Your monthly monitoring contract is direct with the monitoring centre, not bundled into our service fee.
What happens if Jarrod is on holiday?
Cover is provided by the team. Routine service visits continue. Major decisions (scope changes, new quotes) wait the 1-2 weeks; nothing customer-facing is affected. We don’t take 4-week holidays back-to-back.
