The AJAX FireProtect uses a photoelectric smoke chamber paired with a temperature sensor — so it catches fires whether they start with smoke, heat, or both. The moment something's detected, you'll know.
An infrared beam continuously monitors the air. When smoke particles enter, the beam distorts and triggers an immediate alarm.
If a fire produces little smoke, the heat sensor kicks in — registering sudden temperature spikes for full coverage.
The Ajax Hub sends push notifications to every system user the moment a threat is detected — anywhere in the world.
Engineered for reliability. Designed to disappear into your home. Built to protect what matters most, around the clock.
Smoke and temperature sensors work together to catch fires earlier than single-sensor units.
Communicates with the Ajax Hub up to 2,000 metres line-of-sight via the encrypted Jeweller protocol.
Australian standards compliant. No battery changes for a decade — protection you can set and forget.
Operates independently from the hub if needed — sounds an immediate alarm when smoke or heat is detected.
Military-grade encryption and jamming detection prevent tampering and ensure signals always get through.
Independently tests its own smoke chamber and notifies you when it needs cleaning — no manual checks required.
A built-in tamper switch alerts you instantly if anyone tries to remove or open the device.
When one detector sounds, every connected unit triggers — ensuring everyone in the building hears the alarm.
Meets current Queensland smoke alarm legislation. Peace of mind for owners, landlords and property managers.
From first consultation to final commissioning, Mr Secured handles everything. You won't need to lift a finger.
We walk your property, identify the optimal placement points for full coverage, and design a system that meets QLD compliance standards.

Not all fire detectors are built the same. Here's what to look for — and why AJAX FireProtect leads the pack.
The most common type. Catches fires in their early stages by detecting smoke particles, often before flames are visible.
Trigger based on temperature. Ideal for kitchens, garages, or any area where smoke detectors would cause false alarms.
Detect electromagnetic emissions from open flame. Used in industrial spaces or open areas with high heat transfer.
AJAX FireProtect combines photoelectric smoke detection with a temperature sensor in a single unit — giving you the best of both technologies in one elegant device.
AJAX FireProtect uses a photoelectric smoke chamber containing an infrared emitter and photodetector. When smoke particles enter the chamber, they distort the infrared beam — and the device immediately triggers an alarm.
If a fire produces little smoke, a backup temperature sensor monitors the room for sudden heat increases, ensuring no fire goes undetected. Alerts are sent instantly to your phone via the Ajax mobile app.
For full coverage, smoke alarms should be installed no more than 9 metres apart, with two to three sensors typically required per room. They're usually mounted on ceilings, but if installed on a wall they should be no closer than 4.5 metres from any corner.
Mr Secured handles all placement during your installation — making sure your home meets current Queensland smoke alarm legislation.
AJAX FireProtect smoke alarms installed by Mr Secured come with a 10-year sealed battery — meeting Australian Standard AS 3786:2014 for residential smoke alarms.
That means no battery changes for a full decade. The system continuously monitors battery health and alerts you well in advance if any action is needed.
Yes. AJAX FireProtect can operate completely independently from the hub by sounding its built-in siren the moment smoke or heat is detected. When connected to a hub, multiple detectors trigger simultaneously and instant push notifications are sent to every user's phone.
For full smart home integration and remote monitoring, we recommend pairing FireProtect with the Ajax Hub.
There are a few common causes:
Low battery — most chirping is the unit telling you the battery needs replacing. With AJAX FireProtect's 10-year sealed battery, this is a worry you can forget about for the next decade. The system still alerts you well in advance via the Ajax app if any action is needed.
Dust or debris in the smoke chamber. AJAX FireProtect self-tests every 5 minutes and tells you exactly when it needs cleaning.
Interference on legacy mains-powered units. Since AJAX FireProtect uses an encrypted interconnected protocol with sealed power, this isn't a concern.
Testing is simple. Press and hold the Ajax logo on the device for a few seconds — the detector electronically simulates smoke, runs a self-test, and sounds the siren for 6 seconds.
The Ajax app then displays the test results and current device status. Mr Secured walks you through the testing process during installation so you can confidently maintain the system yourself.
You can silence the AJAX FireProtect siren in three ways:
1. Hold the Ajax logo on the detector for 3 seconds.
2. Tap "mute" in the alarm notification in the Ajax app.
3. Press the "*" button on a paired Ajax KeyPad (if synchronous fire alarm muting is enabled).
If smoke or temperature levels remain high, the siren will reactivate after 10 minutes.
