Manufacturer Hardware Warranties

Every brand Mr Secured installs comes with a manufacturer warranty backed by the brand directly. We register your serial numbers at the point of install so you don't have to chase paperwork later. If hardware fails inside warranty, we coordinate the replacement with the manufacturer at no labour cost to you.

Cameras, NVRs, intercoms, access control

Covers manufacturing defects on cameras, NVRs, hard drives, PoE switches, AcuPick recorders, and Dahua intercoms. Excludes physical damage, lightning, and power surges (insurance territory).

Hub 2, sensors, sirens, MotionCam, fobs

European-engineered hardware with Grade 2 EN 50131 certification. AJAX's manufacturer warranty covers every component in the wireless system. Lithium batteries rated for up to 7 years in normal use.

X-series and P-series premium cameras

NDAA-compliant Korean-engineered cameras with WiseAI deep-learning analytics. Australian-supplied Wisenet hardware carries a 3-year back-to-base manufacturer warranty (US/global terms run longer at 5 years). Specific model warranty card supplied at time of install.

Mr Secured Installation Warranty

Hardware warranty covers the gear. Our installation warranty covers everything in between — the cabling, terminations, mounting, configuration, and installation craft that holds the system together. We back this for 1 year on every install across Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, and Ipswich. Beyond the installation warranty, your hardware remains under its manufacturer warranty (3-5 years depending on brand), and our remote support continues free for 3 years from install date.

What's Not Covered (And What To Do Instead)

Honest answer: some failures aren't warranty events. Here's where home insurance, lightning protection, or just normal wear-and-tear takes over.

Lightning strikes & power surges

Direct lightning damage is excluded from manufacturer warranty. This is insurance territory — check your home/business policy. We recommend dedicated surge protection on the NVR and PoE switch line as part of any new install.

Physical damage

If a tradesperson knocks a camera off the wall during a renovation, that's not a warranty claim. We can quote the repair separately. Same for vandalism, vehicle impact, and storm damage — all insurance, not warranty.

Battery wear

AJAX sensor lithium batteries are rated for up to 7 years. After the manufacturer warranty period, normal battery wear isn't covered — but replacement batteries are cheap (typically $5-15) and easy to swap. We notify you via PRO Desktop when any sensor drops below 30%.

Water beyond IP rating

Outdoor cameras and door stations have IP ratings (typically IP65/IP67). If a device gets submerged in a flood or exposed to chemicals/saltwater beyond its rating, manufacturer warranty doesn't apply.

Common Warranty Questions

How do I make a warranty claim?
Call us first. We'll check your install paperwork (we keep your serial numbers and install date on file), diagnose remotely via AJAX PRO Desktop or Dahua dealer portal, and if it's a manufacturer warranty event we coordinate the replacement directly with the brand. You don't talk to the manufacturer — we do. If it's a workmanship issue, we book a site visit at no charge.
Do I need to register anything myself?
No. Mr Secured registers serial numbers at the point of install. Your install paperwork shows what's registered and the warranty start date. Keep that paperwork — we also have a copy on file, but it's good practice for you to have one too.
What if Mr Secured isn't around in 5 years to honour the workmanship warranty?
Fair concern. Hardware warranty is direct with the manufacturer — Dahua, AJAX, Akuvox, and Hanwha have Australian distributors and warranty handling that exists regardless of which installer is around. Workmanship warranty is with Mr Secured. We've been operating since 2010 and aim to be around long-term, but the brand warranties protect the bulk of your investment regardless.
Does the warranty transfer if I sell the property?
Manufacturer warranties are tied to the serial number, not the owner — they transfer with the property automatically. Mr Secured workmanship warranty also transfers; we just need to know who the new owner is so we can update our records and they have a point of contact for any claims.
What if a camera fails after the warranty period?
Most failures are repairable — PoE port damage, lens fogging, or firmware corruption can usually be fixed with a replacement component. We quote the repair at cost. Whole-system replacements after warranty are quoted as a small job. Most well-installed Dahua/AJAX hardware runs reliably for 7-10 years before needing significant replacement.
