When the off-the-shelf installer says “too complicated,” we design it. Mr Secured is Brisbane’s specialist for tricky residential and commercial security installs — multi-building strata, heritage homes, farms and rural acreage, warehouses, cold storage, high-rise car parks, and steep or hard-to-reach sites.
Generic CCTV and alarm crews work fast on standard double-storey detached homes — same NVR location, same camera angles, same alarm zoning, on every job. That works until the site doesn’t fit the template.
The moment you add long driveways, multiple buildings, listed-fabric walls, ANPR boom gates, cold-storage compartments, rural distances, hillside cabling runs, or strata-grade access control, every shortcut breaks. The system goes in — but it doesn’t hold up.
Mr Secured was set up for exactly these sites. We design the system before we mount anything: site walk, digital map, hardware spec, cable routes, monitoring strategy, then commissioning. The result is a security install that actually performs across the whole property — with no dead zones, no false-trips, and no “we’ll fix it later.”
Each comes with its own design language — the wrong stack on the wrong site is why most “complex” installs disappoint.
Long-range coverage across paddocks, sheds, water tanks and main residence. AJAX wireless beats LoRa-distance trenching; ColorVu cameras run 24/7 in zero light.
Perimeter + internal coverage, integrated with monitored alarms and access. Cold-rated cameras for -25°C freezer rooms, IK10 vandal-rated bullets for loading bays.
Brisbane has hundreds of heritage Queenslanders, Federation cottages and council-listed homes. We design installs that respect the original fabric — concealed cable runs, no through-wall penetrations on listed surfaces, period-sympathetic camera bodies.
Duplexes, townhouse rows, body-corporate complexes, side-by-side dwellings with shared driveways. One unified Hub 2 + one Akuvox SmartPlus account — per-resident scopes and access tiers.
Brookfield, Mt Coot-tha, Pullenvale, Chapel Hill, Belmont — sites where the front gate is 300 m from the house and the house is 12 m below the street. Standard installers can’t cable it. We can.
Apartment buildings, office towers, mixed-use podiums, underground car parks. ANPR boom gates, IP-distributed CCTV across multiple risers, integrated with Akuvox lift-call intercoms.
Three stages, on every project, before any cable is pulled. This is what separates “the system went in” from “the system works.”
On-site assessment with the owner or operator. We map the property, identify dead zones, blind spots, existing infrastructure (cabling, gates, NBN, power runs), and pin the high-stakes targets — vehicle entry, plant, perimeter, internal high-value areas.
Digital site map with camera positions, alarm zones, intercom stations, cable runs, NVR/Hub locations and monitoring strategy. You sign off on the design before we order hardware — no scope-creep, no surprises on the invoice.
Every sensor is walk-tested, every camera frame is checked at day & night, every NVR + Hub is firmware-locked and labelled. App access provisioned per user. You don’t leave the hand-over walkthrough until it all works.
Anonymised by suburb. Specific designs — we’ve installed these exact stacks.
Main house, 2 sheds, granny flat, 300 m driveway with electric gate. 14 Dahua ColorVu cameras + AJAX Hub 2 + Akuvox SmartPlus indoor monitor + ANPR at the front gate. One app, full coverage.
6 concealed Dahua bullets, AJAX MotionProtect in cornices, intercom on period door without penetration of the listed verandah balustrade. Discreet enough to pass heritage council review.
Cold-rated cameras for -25°C freezer rooms, IK10 vandal-rated bullets at loading bays, monitored AJAX Hub 2 + access-controlled staff doors. ANPR plate-reader on dock entry.
What actually makes a site “complex”?
Any of: multiple buildings, separated structures (granny flat / shed), long driveways or rural distances, listed-fabric heritage walls, hillside or sub-floor cable runs, multi-tenant strata or body-corp access, industrial or cold-storage compartments, or sites requiring ANPR + access control + CCTV + alarms integrated as one system. If the off-the-shelf installer’s quote says “extras at our discretion,” you’re on a complex site.
Can you secure my home and my detached granny flat as one integrated system?
Yes. AJAX Hub 2 supports multi-group zoning, so the granny flat is its own armed/disarmed zone with its own keypad and notifications, but it lives on the same hub and same app as the main house. CCTV runs over one NVR with separate camera groups. The tenant arms/disarms only their zone; the owner sees both.
We’re a body corporate — how does pricing work across multiple residences?
Common-area infrastructure (intercom door stations, lobby cameras, lift-call panels) is quoted at the body-corp level. Per-unit hardware (indoor monitors, app credentials) is per-unit. We provide an itemised quote so the body corp and individual owners see exactly what’s shared infrastructure vs unit-specific.
Do you handle heritage compliance and council requirements?
We design the install for listed-fabric compliance — concealed cabling, no penetration through original fabric, period-sympathetic hardware bodies, sub-floor or ceiling-cavity routing. We can supply specification documentation for heritage council submission. Final approval is the council’s decision, but our designs have passed every Brisbane heritage review we’ve submitted.
How long from site walk to install on a complex site?
Site walk: 1 hour, free. Design + spec turnaround: 3–5 working days for residential complex, 1–2 weeks for industrial or strata. Install scheduling: typically 2–4 weeks out from design sign-off. Total: ~3–6 weeks from first call to commissioned system on a standard complex residential, longer on commercial.
Can you work with existing cabling, gates, intercoms?
Often, yes. Existing CAT5e/CAT6/coaxial runs to camera positions can frequently be reused with ONVIF-compatible cameras. Existing gates and intercoms can usually be integrated into the new Akuvox / AJAX layer rather than replaced. See our retrofit existing CCTV page for the full retrofit framework.
Do you partner with builders and architects during construction?
Yes — particularly on new-build complex residential and commercial projects. We prefer to be involved at pre-lockup so cable conduit and rough-in are correct before plaster goes on. We supply the architect / builder with cable schedules and rough-in drawings.
What’s the warranty + support on a complex install?
Standard: 1-year installation warranty on workmanship plus 3 years of free remote support (phone, email, AJAX PRO Desktop + Dahua DMSS remote diagnostics, firmware management, AI rule tuning). Hardware carries manufacturer warranty: Dahua 3 yr, AJAX 5 yr, Akuvox 3 yr, Hanwha 3 yr (AU back-to-base). See warranty Brisbane + support for full terms.
Tell us about the site. We’ll come out — free — walk the property, talk through what works for your specific situation, and follow up with a designed quote inside a week. No template kits. No “we’ll see when we get there.”
