Most security installers earn their service revenue by leaving small problems in place: dodgy crimps that fail in summer humidity, NVR drives never burn-in tested, AJAX sensors mounted close enough to an aircon vent to false-trip. The system “works” on the day — then quietly degrades, and you pay them again to come back.
Mr Secured was set up differently. Every install gets a full commissioning walkthrough — every sensor walk-tested, every camera frame checked at day & night, every NVR drive burn-in tested, every Hub firmware-locked. The result: callbacks are very rare on Mr Secured installs — usually zero, occasionally one. When something does come up, our 3-year free remote support handles most of it without anyone visiting.

Each AJAX MotionProtect, MotionCam and door contact is physically triggered and verified through to the Hub. Each Dahua camera is checked for day & night-mode frame quality. The system gets signed off only when everything passes.
We monitor system health remotely on every Mr Secured install. Battery levels, signal strength, sensor faults, NVR drive errors, camera connectivity — we can see all of it before you do, and we’ll often fix things before you notice.
Dahua, AJAX and Akuvox push firmware regularly. Mr Secured pushes them on schedule, off-hours, so you don’t see the disruption. Major releases are tested in our lab first — we don’t install firmware day-of-release until known issues are resolved.
The right rule in February isn’t the right rule in August. Foliage changes, sun angle changes, wildlife habits change. We tune AI rules across seasons so nuisance alerts stay close to zero year-round.
New family member? Tenant changeover? Phone replaced? Forgot a code? We handle account onboarding, credential management, push notification setup, and remote walkthroughs — included in the 3-year free support window.
Some things have to be done in person: physical hardware replacement under manufacturer warranty, new camera positions added to an existing system, sensor relocation after renovations. We quote those at install rates — no surprise call-out fees.
Do you offer routine health checks on cameras and alarms?
Yes — included in the 3-year free remote support window. We monitor battery levels, signal strength, sensor faults, NVR drive health and camera connectivity from AJAX PRO Desktop and Dahua DMSS dealer portal. Most issues are flagged and fixed before you’ve noticed anything was off.
Will my CCTV drop out or freeze?
Very rarely on a Mr Secured install. We design installs to avoid the common dropout causes — proper PoE budgeting, correct NVR drive grade, redundant NVR pairs on commercial sites, switch ports on suitable PoE budgets, no daisy-chained budget switches. If a dropout does happen, we’ll often see it before you do via the remote dashboards.
Do you walk-test every sensor before you leave?
Yes. Every AJAX MotionProtect, MotionCam and door contact is physically triggered and verified through to the Hub. Every camera frame is checked at day and night-mode. Door + perimeter contacts are tested individually. Commissioning checklist isn’t signed off until everything passes.
How do firmware updates work? Will my system disrupt suddenly?
We handle firmware remotely, scheduled off-hours so you don’t see disruption. Major firmware releases are tested in our lab first — we don’t install day-of-release until known issues are resolved. Rollback path retained if a regression appears.
My camera AI keeps triggering on possums / branches / nothing. Can you fix?
Yes, that’s a tuning issue. Dahua WizSense person / vehicle filtering and AJAX intrusion rules need seasonal adjustment as foliage and sun angle change. On Mr Secured installs we do quarterly rule audits during the 3-year support window.
What if I need a sensor moved after renovating?
On-site visit at install rates — no surprise callout fee. We come out, relocate the sensor, walk-test, re-tune AI rules to suit the new layout. Standard practice for major renovations or fit-outs.
How quickly can you respond when something does go wrong?
Remote response is same-day standard during business hours, often within an hour for monitored alarm faults. On-site visits typically 2–5 working days depending on parts availability and urgency. Emergency call-outs for active break-in or alarm failure are prioritised.
What happens after the 3-year free remote support period?
Remote support continues at standard rates — but our installs are configured precisely enough that callbacks remain very rare past year 4. Manufacturer warranties on the hardware run longer: Dahua 3 yr, AJAX 5 yr, Akuvox 3 yr (AU back-to-base). See warranty + support.
